WHY I WROTE A BOOK ABOUT CONTROL
When I started writing The Lies We Fear, I thought I was telling a story about a girl trapped in a world of secrets and power. But the deeper I wrote, the more I realized I was writing about something much more personal—about what it means to grow up in the shadow of someone else's control. This book became my way of asking hard questions: Who decides who we are? And what happens when we decide to take that power back?
